About Sheila
More than four decades in beauty, and still grateful for every person who sits in her chair.
A career built around people
Sheila began her career in the beauty industry in 1983 and completed advanced aesthetics training in Chicago in 1985. Her work has taken her through San Antonio and Austin, Texas, and back home to Iowa.
Over the years, she has experienced nearly every side of the industry — from employee and employer to salon owner and independent suite professional. She has also worked in long-term care, an experience that deepened something she has always believed: beauty work is really people work.
Today, she works from her own suite within Plush Salon & Spa, where she can focus less on managing a business and more on what she loves most — caring for clients, refining her craft, learning new services, and continuing to grow.
The people — and the learning — are still the best part.
After more than four decades in beauty, Sheila is still just as interested in people and just as curious about the industry as ever. She loves hearing what is happening in her clients' lives, growing alongside them, and helping them feel cared for and confident.
And when she isn't working, she can often be found researching a new treatment, technique, product, or piece of technology. There is almost always a class underway or an idea being explored.
Experience gives her perspective. Curiosity keeps her moving forward.

Outside the salon, Sheila is married, has three children and eight grandchildren, and is happiest when she is learning something new, building something meaningful, or spending time with the people she loves.
